Leo Jiaming Pan 加铭 (he/him) is an 18 year old Australian-born Chinese filmmaker based in Sydney.
Through his deep cultural roots to his countryside home in Dongbei, he creating narratives around Asian stories reflecting upon his own culture and experiences as a Second Generation immigrant.
Jiaming’s latest directorial, Red String (红绳) 2025, won at the FLiCKERFEST International Short Film Festival for the FLiCKERUP Avid Award Best Editing In A Youth Short Film and is Nominated for Best Short Film and Best Editing at AUYFF 2026. With prior projects, A Certain Romance (2025) screening at Canberra International Short Film Festival in both Student and Experimental categories at the PhotoAccess Art Gallery. Jiaming has also worked as a Camera Assistant for SMILE (2025) screening at Lunar Park & Good Feelings (2026) as a Graphic Designer. His work has been featured in Variety Australia and FilmINK and registered with Screen Australia.
Jiaming is currently in late pre-production for his next short film, The Boy With The Lion’s Head a 23 minute Coming Of Age/Fantasy short film in which he is Directing, Writing, Producing, Co-Doping, Editing along side a film crew of over thirty talented filmmakers and Lion Dancers.
